Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert

The scenery around Saint Guilhem-le-Désert is truly spectacular and the village itself is classed as one of the most beautiful in France. On this excursion, you can stroll around the cobbled streets with their picturesque medieval and renaissance buildings, sit in the shade of the age-old plane tree on the Place de la Liberté, and visit Gellone Abbey, a true architectural treasure.

The Camargue

The Camargue is an area of true natural beauty, famous for its pink flamingos and herds of black bulls and white horses. With its sand dunes and marshland, salt flats and pastures, lagoons and rice fields, it's a unique environment.
The fortified town of Aigues-Mortes and the Canal du Rhône are just two of the attractions on the agenda.
In the morning, you'll follow the coast road to the famous medieval town of
Aigues-Mortes. It's a fascinating place, with its ramparts towering over the marshland and saltwater lakes. This is the town that Louis IX chose as the departure point for his two crusades.
You are free to choose where to have lunch in Aigues-Mortes (picnicking is an option).
In the afternoon, you'll discover the local landscape and traditions. You'll take a barge trip into the heart of the Camargue and stop off at a manade, where horses and bulls are bred and raised, and experience at first hand the work of the gardians who look after the herds.

Collioure and the Côte Vermeille

Discover the lovely Catalan port of Collioure. You'll marvel at the gorgeous scenery of the Côte Vermeille, which has inspired some of the world's most famous artists. You'll discover the Banyuls vineyard, perched on hillsides between the Pyrenean mountains and the Mediterranean sea.
Collioure, with its beautiful bay, is the jewel of the Côte Vermeille. On this excursion, you'll be able to explore the coast and see the Château Royal and the unusual Notre-Dame-des-Anges church, whose bell tower was originally a medieval lighthouse. You'll have time to stroll around the cobbled lanes of the ancient Mauré quarter, where the famous pirate Redbeard would have walked in times gone by.
You'll be free to choose where to have lunch in Collioure. (Picnicking is an option, and you can also go for a swim.)
In the afternoon, you'll go on the tourist train that travels along the Côte Vermeille to Port Vendres. There are historic monuments en route as you wind your way along the breathtakingly beautiful coastline, with its picturesque creeks and panoramic views.
You'll go through the Banyuls vineyard, an interesting sight to see.
